Description: This is my acrylic painting of a Desert Cardinal or Pyrrhuloxia. This is a song bird found in the American Southwest and Northern Mexico. These birds are typically red/brown/gray color. Some have been seen with more of a blue shade. I was inspired to paint this one with a darker blue shade. Description: This is my acrylic painting of a pair of cardinals in the cold winter snow. This painting is dedicated to Dixie Brooks, who loves cardinals and it was her high school team mascot. Description: I love painting turkeys and sunsets, so I had to do this acrylic painting. My painting has a tom turkey strutting with his feathers out to impress a hen turkey as the sun sets. Description: This is my acrylic painting of a pheasant at sunset. In my eyes, pheasants are the most inspiring game bird. I thoroughly enjoy watching pheasants in the wild. Seeing a pheasant striking rich colors against a wheat field motivates me to paint them. In addition, I love painting sunsets and sunrises. For this acrylic painting I combined the sunset as the background, with the pheasant poised ready for flight across the field into the darkness. Description: I was inspired when I saw some California Quail on a vacation trip. I loved watching them run with their head plumes bobbing around. This is my acrylic painting of a pair of California Quail with some chicks. This part of my Toned Tan Paper series. A family of California quails gathers on the ground, with two adult birds and several chicks standing alert. Brown and beige hues dominate the scene, complemented by simple background grass strokes.

Description: This is my acrylic painting of a male Eastern bluebird. This is the state bird of Missouri and New York. Bluebirds have long been associated with joy, happiness and luck. I was inspired to paint this bluebird are they are one of my favorites and I see them often in my yard. Bluebirds have been featured in movies and songs. A vibrant bluebird is perched on a slender branch against a soft, blue sky. Delicate green leaves sprout from the branch, adding a touch of natural elegance to the scene.
