Description: I was inspired when I saw some California Quail on a vacation trip. I loved watching them run with their head plumes bobbing around. This is my acrylic painting of a pair of California Quail with some chicks. This part of my Toned Tan Paper series. A family of California quails gathers on the ground, with two adult birds and several chicks standing alert. Brown and beige hues dominate the scene, complemented by simple background grass strokes.

I was inspired to paint this bluebird are they are one of my favorites and I see them often in my yard. Bluebirds have been featured in movies and songs.
