This is my acrylic painting of the New Jersey state bird and flower, which are the eastern goldfinch and the common violet. The eastern goldfinch has bright yellow feathers and a black head and wings. New Jersey was admitted to the union on December 18, 1787 as the third state. This painting is part of my state birds and flowers collection. The delicate composition highlights the contrast between the bird's bright plumage and the soft floral backdrop.
