I painted the red wattle on the gobblers with extra thick paint to give it a thicker texture appearance. The illustration of the dog, was based on the bird dog of the book authors Dad. The dog was an English Setter bird dog named Whimpy. Whimpy was a good hunting birddog and was also family friendly. Description: This is my acrylic painting of two flamingos in love in a tranquil water setting, surrounded by lush greenery. Their pink feathers contrast beautifully with the water. These beautiful birds are wading in a tropical lagoon. The heart shape between them symbolizes love, commitment and lasting partnership. They get their pink color from their diet of algae and crustaceans, which are rich in carotenoids. These birds are social and live in large groups called “flamboyances”. Flamingos are the national bird of the Bahamas.
