The common blue violet is the state flower in Rhode Island, Illinois and New Jersey. Description: This is my acrylic painting of a Kelpie. The Kelpie is an aquatic mythical Scottish water creature generally appearing in the image of a young horse. The Kelpie will let an unsuspecting human mount him and then plunge into a river or lake and hold him underwater.
