This is my watercolor painting of a catfish with yellow eyes and big detailed whiskers or barbels swimming against a backdrop of aquatic plants. The whiskers are used primarily for finding food, especially in murky or dark waters. The whiskers are covered in taste buds. The water is painted in soft blues and greens, enhancing the underwater setting. I enjoy fishing for and eating catfish.
