This is my mixed media (watercolor and acrylic) painting of a blue jay in a forest. Blue jays are noisy, bold, aggressive, highly curious and intelligent. They have been known to sound an alarm when hawks or other dangers are near. It may occasionally impersonate the calls of raptors. Blue jays have been featured in many myths and folklore. A blue jay is perched on a bare branch against a textured brown background. The bird's vibrant blue feathers are highlighted with white and black markings.
