This is my watercolor and ink painting of a crawfish, also called crawdad, mud bug or crayfish located in a swamp. I was inspired to do this painting from my travels in the southern states of America where these are common. A detailed depiction of a crawfish showcases intricate lines and shades of red and brown, set against a speckled background. The creature's claws and segmented body are prominent, with an emphasis on texture and form.
