This is my acrylic painting of a Bohemian waxwing feasting on the fruit from a crabapple tree. They are found in the forests near lakes, streams and ponds in northern North America and Eurasia. Some feather tips have a red waxy appearance that give its English name. They can metabolize alcohol produced in fermenting fruit, but can still become intoxicated. A Bohemian waxwing with vivid plumage perches gracefully on a branch adorned with clusters of berries. The sky provides a serene blue backdrop, enhancing the natural beauty of the scene.
