This is my acrylic painting of the Alaska state bird and flower, for the willow ptarmigan and forget-me-not flower. This bird changes color from light brown in the summer to snow white in the winter and uses its camouflage as protection. The state flower is also called the alpine forget-me not. Alaska was admitted to the union on January 3, 1959 as the 49th state. This painting is part of my state bird and flower collection. A willow ptarmigan with a striking brown and white plumage stands amidst vibrant blue forget-me-not flowers against a backdrop of snow-covered mountains. The scene conveys a sense of serene wilderness and natural beauty.
