This is my acrylic painting of the Hawaii state bird and flower, the Nene or Hawaiian Goose and yellow hibiscus. The Nene is a species of bird endemic to the Hawaiian Islands. Hawaii was admitted to the union on August 21, 1959 as the 50th state. This painting is part of my state bird and flower collection.
