This is my acrylic painting of the California state bird and flower, which are the California quail and California poppy. California was admitted to the union on September, 9, 1850 as the 31st state. I love the curving crest or plume on their head. The plants bright orange flowers are an unmatched symbol of the Golden State. This painting is part of my state bird and flowers collection. This bird painting is included in the bird playing card game called “Chirp Up”.
