This is my acrylic painting on black paper of a snake for the Chinese Year of the Snake. The snake carries meanings of malevolence, wisdom, cattiness, mystery as well as acumen and divination. A vibrant snake slithers through a dark trail hunting for its prey. The intricate patterns on the snake complement the varied shades of gray surrounding it with the words “Year of the Snake” prominently displayed above it.
