This is my acrylic painting of a Kelpie. The Kelpie is an aquatic mythical Scottish water creature generally appearing in the image of a young horse. The Kelpie will let an unsuspecting human mount him and then plunge into a river or lake and hold him underwater. A dark scene depicts a raven perched near a Kelpie amid reeds by a body of water, creating a mysterious and eerie atmosphere. The subdued color palette and foggy background enhance the ominous mood.
