Desert Cardinal Magnet

This is my acrylic painting of a Desert Cardinal or Pyrrhuloxia. This is a song bird found in the American Southwest and Northern Mexico. These birds are typically red/brown/gray color. Some have been seen with more of a blue shade. I was inspired to paint this one with a darker blue shade. A vibrant desert cardinal with a striking red and black tail perches on a delicate branch, set against a soft, muted background. Its expressive crest and detailed plumage highlight its exotic appearance.
