This is my acrylic painting of a beautiful Victora crowned pigeon displaying its large, elegant blue lace-like crest, maroon breast and red iris eyes. It is named in honor of the 19th century British monarch Queen Victoria and the fan-like crest of feathers on top if its head that resemble a royal crown. They have a white tipped feather crest. They are found in the lowland and swamp forests of New Guinea and surrounding islands. They are the largest living pigeon species in the world.
