Description: This is my acrylic painting of a pheasant at sunset. In my eyes, pheasants are the most inspiring game bird. I thoroughly enjoy watching pheasants in the wild. Seeing a pheasant striking rich colors against a wheat field motivates me to paint them. In addition, I love painting sunsets and sunrises. For this acrylic painting I combined the sunset as the background, with the pheasant poised ready for flight across the field into the darkness. A pheasant stands amidst tall grass during a vibrant sunset. The sky is filled with dramatic clouds, casting a warm glow over the landscape.

Description: This is my acrylic painting of an Ozark River. I went on a float trip on a river in southeast Missouri with some friends several years ago. We had fun, excitement and a few close calls on our journey down the river. Before our trip I had been studying some paintings of renowned artist from Missouri, Thomas Hart Benton. I learned that he had made a trip to the same river as a source for some of his paintings. On this trip, I was keenly more aware, and noticed all kinds of interesting reflections of colors, shapes and objects that could been seen in and around the gently flowing river. I was inspired about Thomas Hart Benton’s trip, his paintings and my experience on the river. I could hardly wait to get home and start painting.

Description: I just love old barns. This is my acrylic painting of an old barn at sunset. They don’t make them like they used to. The old ones made of wood look so interesting with the wear and tear, holes, missing and warped boards. So, I painted this old barn with a wind mill at one of my favorite times of the day, at sunset. A rustic barn stands amidst a field of tall grass under a vibrant sunset sky, with an old windmill nearby. The warm hues of orange and red in the sky contrast beautifully with the dark silhouette of the barn and surrounding foliage.

Description: I love painting the striking rich colors of orange laced with black and bordered with white dots on a Monarch butterfly flying in the dawns early light. I used acrylic with a pearlescent acrylic paint to give the butterfly color some shine! A vibrant monarch butterfly with striking orange and black wings is depicted against a pale background. I used acrylic and pearlescent paint to give shine to the skin on the lizards. I painted these lizards on black paper to give depth to the surroundings and contrast to their skin tones. A circle of vibrantly colored lizards surrounds a central point, each one painted in a different hue from red to blue. Description: This is my acrylic painting that was done from a photo of a sunset at Table Rock Lake. I love sunsets and lakes so this was a blast for me to paint. A reflective pool of water mirrors the silhouette of a tree, surrounded by dense foliage at the lake water's edge. The sky transitions from a deep blue to a warm orange as the sun sets behind the distant tree line.

Description: This is my acrylic painting with two large schools of koi swimming in a yin yang pattern. Within each school there is a circular group of lily pads with flowers.
